What happens when two strong, caring, compassionate, ethical, and creative women join forces in the world of photography and film? And not to mention the relentless perfectionitis that we both have? And, most importantly, when they are mother and daughter?! What happens you ask? THIS happens. A partnership that will work tirelessly to capture and preserve your most treasured gems in life. Your memories. Your life. Your uniqueness. Your happiness and your love. We both share a rock-solid work ethic and a non-negotiable commitment to our Client’s vision.
It is no secret in the photography and videography world that photographers and videographers are often “in each other’s way” (to put it mildly). Not us! While shooting, we flow and sync with each other and have found that we even predict each other’s moves. It’s seamless for us. A “dance” of sorts that is instinctual and comes from not only a true mutual respect for both modes of creativity, but also from that which cannot be described between and mother and a daughter.
Cats out of the bag- I'm a professional photographer with no professional photos of myself. Some call it "bad for your brand" and I call it "True life. I'm working through my insecurities, ok???" :)
I'm Kylie. I'm 25, a true Aries, and full of love and compassion. Music fuels my soul. I'm pretty positive my blood is 90% chips and queso. You can find me the happiest when I am doing any of the following: uplifting or supporting anyone, traveling to the oceans or mountains, trail riding on anything (sxs, four wheeler, or snowmobile), belly laughing with my girls, or having deep life talks with anyone willing to listen. I have the world's best support system and am so blessed to have them. My niece's Everleigh and Teagan give me strength by simply existing. I do photography part time, while I am also the CEO/co-founder of a healthcare business... on average maintaining around 70 employees,.. in the middle of a pandemic... while experiencing a staffing crisis. Most think I'm crazy for all that I juggle, but I am extremely proud of what I have accomplished.
Photography brings me so much joy. It has given me a front row seat to the most important parts of people's lives. It has brought so many new amazing people into my life, but also reconnected me with old friends. It is important to me that through my work, my clients are able to relive these moments for the rest of their lives. I want their photos to allow them to feel the joy they felt in their heart's during that milestone in their life no matter if it's a wedding or a simple 'just because' photoshoot.

Literally one of the hardest things to do is to write/talk about yourself; and I’ve done some pretty hard things in my life. I’ll give this my best shot, but one thing I can guarantee is that what are reading is authentic and genuine. The easiest part of my life to talk about is also the greatest part of my life: my two adult children and my granddaughters. I love them completely and I am so incredibly proud of the human beings they are. They sustain my soul and they inspire me every single day of my life.
I worked for 33 years in higher education and have a master’s degree in professional counseling. I retired from the University of Michigan-Flint after having directed several different offices – all of which were dedicated to helping students fulfill their dreams. I also taught a course for several years. I created the course with other fabulous professors, and it was called “So…. You Want to Change the World?”. I loved my work and was relentless in being an advocate for students and relentless in teaching minds what changing the world looks like. I’ve spent my entire life caring about people. My master’s degree in counseling gave me the tools to understand people deeply. Our struggles, our victories, our behaviors, our dreams, our insecurities. All of it, really. I think the greatest thing about me must be my ability to love and my level of patience and forgiveness.
So…… what DOES a 52-year-old do after retiring at the height of her career? And why in the heck would someone retire at such a young age? Well, the very FIRST thing I did was find the BEST tattoo artist EVER and worked with him to tell my life story through art: a complete sleeve on my left arm. Let me just say, that was the best thing that I EVER did solely for myself. I spent 33 years empowering my students to use happiness as their main compass in life. It (happiness) isn’t overrated and should guide us all during this journey of life. So, I then began thinking about how I could continue with my love of people. And here I am. This is where I've landed. As a storyteller. Through a lens. A storyteller of the authentic kind. A storyteller of the deeply aware kind. The kind that seeks to understand lives and moments within those lives in order to produce an artifact (i.e. video) that captures more than what meets the fleeting eye. So much of what is magnificent about life and happiness gets lost in our rushed lives. I love where I've landed. People appreciate the raw beauty of their lives being unveiled. And I love those people. Can this really be a job? Like, really?! Yes. It can and is.
